The top of the bass is "tuned" several times during final work to maximize its balance and responsiveness.
The result is a $10,000 bass sound - even and full across the whole register. You'll KNOW WHY this is a $10,000 bass once you hear it, AWESOME evenness from low to highest notes, AND growls and sustains BIG TIME, and sings like a canary on the upper end!
I have not heard this kind of balanced full sound on less expensive basses.
